Urgent Need

It’s the beginnings of spring time here in Ukraine and the trees are budding and the birds are singing, we are enjoying some warm weather, but along with that has come some unusually strong winds this season. We even had a portion of our roof torn off!

Two days ago we received a phone call from our social services office asking us if we would be willing to take in a family with 5 kids because their house caught on fire and the entire roof was gone. We immediately said yes! Our social worker said she called many families and no one said yes and as quickly as we did. We are thankful for the opportunity to help.

I, Archie, was able to drive out to the familie’s house yesterday. They have 5 kids aging from 5 and up and one of their children is deaf. Two of the older children were home when the roof caught on fire. But praise God all family members are safe and ok.

As you can see from the pictures, they have nothing left and need to start over. We weighed the cost of trying to help repair their house, but basically they would need to demolish and start over. So, we asked if there were any other homes available for sale in the area, because we knew it would be cheaper to simply buy another house than to build from ground up, materials are quite expensive right now. We received a phone call today that they found a home in a nearby village ready for them to furnish and move in. We are asking you all to pray and consider helping us purchase this home for them and provide furniture, appliances and clothing. It will take around $7000 to purchase the home and set them up in it. We are already more than half way there! Please join us in helping extend the love of Christ to this family!
